Help is Available

Facing an unexpected pregnancy can seem overwhelming. That is why knowing where to go for help is important. Talk to someone you can trust - we have caring people available to help you through this difficult time.

At Women’s Pregnancy Center, we do not provide or refer for abortions. We will, however, provide you with accurate information regarding abortion procedures and their possible side-effects. Abortion is a serious medical procedure that can affect your physical and mental health. It could affect the rest of your life. The right to choose includes the right to know.

Post-Abortion Recovery - Many women who choose abortion struggle with emotional, physical or spiritual distress after that choice. Most of these women are suffering in silence. Those with an abortion in their past often don't understand that much of the difficulty they experience in their lives can be traced to their decision and the circumstances that led them to that choice. And it's not just the women who are affected. The men who would have been fathers are equally, yet differently affected.

What is Post–Abortion Stress? - Post-Abortion Stress is an adverse emotional reaction to abortion. It is often a delayed reaction and can surface at any time in a person’s life … and when it does, it can be confusing, painful and overwhelming.

Symptoms and Common Reactions:

  • Avoidance behaviors/addictions
  • Guilt / regret
  • Depression/suicidal impulses
  • Relationship struggles
  • Inability to bond with children
  • Emotional numbness • Low self-esteem
  • Sense of loss and loneliness
  • Sleeplessness, nightmares
  • Uncontrollable rage
  • Sexual dysfunction
  • Unforgiveness toward self and others
  • Avoidance of conversations that deal with abortion

How do I find healing? - Women’s Pregnancy Center offers a program that provides a confidential, non-judgmental, and safe place for women who seek healing from the emotional and spiritual pain of abortion.
